Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and who else sees it.

The short version

We collect what you type into the brief, because we cannot build your site without it. We share it with the handful of companies that host, email, charge and draft on our behalf. We do not sell it, and we do not advertise to you. Ask us for a copy or ask us to delete it, and we will.

What we collect

We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

Why we hold it

To design and build your site, to email you about your project, to take payment, to make the changes you ask for afterwards, and to keep a record of what was agreed. That is all.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of companies to run the service. Each sees only what it needs:

We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to anyone for marketing. We will disclose it if the law requires us to.

Where it lives

On servers in the United States, operated by the companies above.

How long we keep it

Project records are kept for as long as you are a client and for up to two years afterwards, so that we can answer questions about work we did for you. Briefs that never became projects are deleted within twelve months. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will, except where we have to keep a payment record for tax purposes.

What you can ask for

Email hello@halfdayhouse.com and ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. We will do it within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason and it costs nothing.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. Your project page sets none either: the private link in your email is what identifies it, which is why that link should not be forwarded to anyone you would not show your project to. Our own staff area sets a login cookie, which you will never encounter.

Children

This service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email active clients before it takes effect.

Asking us anything

Write to hello@halfdayhouse.com. A person reads it.
